Miss Mel (Melancholy Ghost) has been active in the kink community for more than twenty years and has been educating since 2016. A passionate advocate for community building, Leather history, and intentional play, she approaches kink as both an art form and a vehicle for connection, emphasizing communication, consent, and creating experiences that leave everyone involved feeling fulfilled.
Known for scenes that are “fun, scary, artistic, and bratty as hell,” Miss Mel combines creativity with deep care for her partners, using music, collaboration, and negotiated intention to craft memorable experiences. Whether teaching, reading tarot, or continuing her own education through travel and historical research, she remains committed to growing alongside the communities she serves.

We asked Miss Mel a few questions about her journey, her philosophy, and what continues to inspire her.

Since 2016, I have been presenting. I have been a part of the overall scene for over 20 years.

I am passionate about community building and those who wish to build, and, above all, to protect and provide safe spaces for the community.

The fact that I am my most authentic self. Also, my business has been running for 3 years; I am pretty proud of that.

Read, find a mentor, and know yourself and your boundaries in kink, and know what you want and do not want before you dive in. Have a concept first.

Fun, scary, artistic, and bratty as hell.

I build my play around how I want the play partner bottoming to feel based upon their consented parameters and compromises. I use music to help guide me and to keep my time. I take them on a journey of self-exploration through mind, body, and soul. For me, it is about making a person feel and not just taking what I want. Because if it works out right, we both get what we desire at the end of play.

That abusers would be held more accountable for their actions. That victims would be listened to more rather than jumping through so many hoops while the abuser hardly has to jump through any.
